Film Trailer Analysis

In film trailers usually have quotes or phrases. These things make the audience more interested in the film because the quotes or hints are usually making the audience want to watch the film more and can leave the audience puzzled which will make them watch the film and want to find out. Also the thing that would make the audience watch a film is the actors in the film. Actors in the film are important because the audience might watch the film because of the actors, because they’re famous. Also the other thing that makes the audience watch the film is because of the actors, maybe because all the films they watched with the exact actor were really good, so it might make them think that the film with that particular actor might be really good as well.

Sometimes in trailers there is also the actor’s/ background voice. Which will maybe tell a bit about what’s happening or might make the audience be even more interested in the film because what the actor/ background voice might of said made them puzzled and just interested to watch it.

Music that is played during the trailer might be calm and essential, or tense. By the music in the background the audience might be able to tell what the film genre is about.

The target audience for this film might be people who love horror films. Probably people/ kids ages between 13-30, because old people aren’t really interested in horror films. The trailer gives away a bit of the film by showing in the beginning of the film that the girl (main character) is adopted and is an orphan and that she is going to do something bad because in the trailer you can see that she has some kind of mental illness.

The genre of the film in the trailer has been presented throughout the character because the girl is adopted, which shows in the trailer. Also because the girl has mental illness and it shows how her parents take her to see a specialist. Also in some bits the girl is in a white dress in darkness, which makes her look scary. The setting of the film is alright, which doesn’t make it really scary because it is in a modern house which is shown in the trailer.

From the trailer you can get more ideas about what the film is going to be about because it tells you more about what is it going to be about, gives you more detail. Also from the trailer you can see what other people are going to be involved in the film. Also you can catch up with the story and see if it is going to be good or not, whereas from the poster you can’t really see what is going to happen and you can’t really understand it.

The advantages of using an internet trailer is that you can understand the film more and you can get a better idea what it is going to be about, whereas about the poster you just see on images of person which don’t really tell you what the film is going to be about.
